Advertising and Sponsorship Policy

How advertising, sponsorship and house promotions are separated from independent Atlas editorial content.

Public policy Last reviewed

Editorial independence

Advertising revenue does not buy editorial approval, search priority or favourable coverage. Editorial decisions about what Atlas publishes, updates, links or recommends should remain separate from advertising relationships.

Clear labels

Paid advertisements are labelled “Advertisement” and first-party or sponsored promotions are labelled distinctly from editorial recommendations. Advertising should not imitate an article card, clinical recommendation or system message in a way that could mislead readers.

No endorsement

The presence of an advertisement does not mean Atlas endorses the advertiser, product, treatment or service. Advertisers are responsible for their claims and legal obligations.

Medical and safety considerations

Atlas may reject advertising that is deceptive, unsafe, incompatible with the purpose of the site or likely to create confusion with independent health information. Advertising placement should not interrupt critical medical warnings or obscure educational content.

Privacy and consent

Third-party advertising scripts are subject to the configured privacy and consent controls. When advertising storage is declined or advertising is unavailable, Atlas may display clearly labelled first-party house promotions without external advertising tracking.
